Demag Cranes Opens New Production Facility In India
Following an investment of more than $10 million and eight months in construction, Demag Cranes has inaugurated a new production plant in Chakan, India. The new plant marks an expansion of the company’s production capacities on the sub-continent of some 86,000 sq. ft. to cover a total of more than 112,000 sq. ft., with a possible extension of 64,00 sq. ft.
Besides standard cranes and crane components, the product range in future will also include the company’s more complex process cranes. The plant, which is located 18 miles from Pune, is designed for a production capacity of up to 600 standard cranes and 100 process cranes per year.
Demag Cranes Group has been operational in India since 1997. It said it has more than 600 customers in the country.
