To ensure optimum utilisation of space, the crane is provided with special end carriages and fitted as high as possible between the crane runways as the height of the room will allow. The hoist unit is also fitted with a chain return arrangement which provides the longest possible hook path. Thus also bulky welded structures can be moved into the required position in spite of the low room height.

Due to high machine tools fitted at a later date, raised single-girder cranes were fitted to the existing KBK crane runway to ensure loads can be handled above the machines.
